Our Local Offer

Harting Local Offer

At Harting School, we see all children as individuals and we strive for all children achieve their full potential and leave us with a deep love of learning. Our Christian ethos embeds kindness, trust, hope and respect into our curriculum offer, regardless of children’s age or ability. Through dynamic and adaptable lessons and activities, we aim for pupils to become confident and resilient, and move through life successfully.

What we do:

  • We talk with the children and their families, and engage with previous education providers and outside agencies to gain a solid understanding of each child’s needs.
  • Our ongoing cycle of Assess, Plan, Do, Review ensures that children are continuously monitored, challenged and that learning is appropriate for each individual.
  • We have an open-door policy and parents are always welcome to make appointments to talk to staff. Our highly skilled ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) is able to provide support both within the classrooms and in the calm and therapeutic spaces we have in school.
  • Children with SEND are given an ISP (Individual support plan) which captures pupil voice, strengths and difficulties and incorporates short term learning goals. These are reviewed regularly with parents, children and staff.
  • All staff regularly engage with CPD that ensures training needs are met and up to date. Staff are made aware of the different barriers to learning that children may face and are equipped with a range of strategies to support.
  • We have a building which is mainly on one level, allowing good accessibility for all. We have a large playground with different zones.
