Harting Coronation Wildlife Garden and The Hide @ Harting

Harting Coronation Wildlife Garden

To mark the Coronation of King Charles III, in just over 6 weeks, made possible through the immense kindness and generosity of the Harting Parish Council,  members of the school and local community as well as an array of local businesses, we were able to transform the pond area of the school into a invaluable resources for the school and local community now and for generations to come.

This project began with plans to tidy up the pond area and rapidly grew into a truly inspirational project. The school and village now have the following resources:

  • A wildlife garden with a eclectic mix of wildflowers, shrubs and trees.
  • A thriving pond with newts, tadpoles, snails and pond skaters
  • A dedicated outdoor log circle learning area
  • A wildlife hide fully resourced to enable the children to get the most from the environment.
  • A quite outdoor learning space with the most incredible views of our beautiful village
  • A dedicated area which is home to our chickens.

We would like to thank every single person that has been a part of this project. We feel very lucky to have such incredible support from both the local and surrounding towns and villages.

This invaluable resource is enjoyed by all children throughout the year and provides a wealth of opportunities to enhance their learning experiences across the curriculum.
