I am so excited to get started and stuck in with lots of new learning, develop new skills and work with a variety of new children! Chestnut will have many opportunities for new friendship building, teamwork, independent opportunities and sharing their voice! So let's have an incredible year together! :)
Website will be updated weekly, every Friday, with pictures of our learning and any other exciting stuff we get up to!

Autumn 1 Week 1
A jam packed and fun filled first week! We have thoroughly enjoyed getting back into school, from exploring our new classroom and friendships to lots of new learning! This week, we have practiced some sentence writing based on a Claude story and have  completed a few maths activities on counting and number recognition.
Our afternoons have consisted of a variety of different lessons, including PE, Art, PSHE, Computing, Music and History! As well as being able to explore and play in the classroom and outside covered area.
Jitter Juice!
To help with any first day nerves (or jitters!) we drank some jitter juice to help, adding some extra special sprinkles to ensure it definitely worked! We then did some writing after this, describing how we felt before and after the juice!
Our First Dance Party Friday! (sorry the video quality isn't amazing!)

History
For our first History lesson we looked at our favourite toys and spoke about the types of toys we play with today. We sorted our toys into different groups and came up with 3 groups based on the materials. Soft Toys, Plastic Toys and Metal Toys. We spoke about why they were our favourites and wrote a sentence on it.
Knowledge Organisers

Please find below the knowledge organisers linked to your child's learning this term. This document provides details of the key knowledge the children are expected to learn across the sequence of learning. We would encourage parents and carers to look at these with their children and regularly spend time discussing the facts on the sheets.
