I am delighted to welcome Oak Class pupils and their families to the new school year, and am looking forward to getting to know them. This will be an exciting year of learning, growth and new adventures as children build on their skills, develop confidence and work together as a team. There is a lot to look forward to and I can't wait to see the enthusiasm and creativity that every pupil brings to our classroom. The adults working in Oak Class this year are myself (Ms Leeb) and Miss Gillbard.

Science: Properties of Changing Materials

Properties of materials – introduction

During this fun, hands-on topic, children will learn about the properties of everyday materials and how this affects their ability to change. We will find out about conductors and insulators; investigate whether certain materials are soluble (or insoluble) in water; find different ways to separate mixtures and decide whether changes are reversible or irreversible.

Knowledge Organisers

Please find below the knowledge organisers linked to your child's learning this term. These documents provide details of the key knowledge the children are expected to learn across the sequence of learning. We would encourage parents and carers to look at these with their children and use the information on the sheets as a basis for discussion.
